Additionally, new strains have been developed to contain higher levels of CBN and CBG.

Research has shown CBG to be potentially effective in addressing causative factors related to glaucoma, inflammatory bowel disease and Huntington’s disease, and it has shown promise with regards to inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. There is also evidence that CBG is an effective antibacterial agent, an appetite stimulant and a potential tool for use in fighting bladder disorders. Additionally, CBG has potential as an antidepressant and is believed to reduce anxiety.

Research also indicates that CBN may be a powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent, a neuroprotectant, and an appetite stimulant, in addition to anecdotal evidence that suggests CBN has sedative properties and the potential to reduce anxiety.
