Delta 9 Bio-Tech Expanding Cannabis Operations

Delta 9 Bio-Tech is pleased to announce that we have received final approval from Health Canada regarding the immediate expansion into our entire 80,000 sq. ft. licensed facility.

This expansion will include the launch of our new modular and stackable Delta 9 Grow Pods as self-contained growing rooms, each holding upwards of 240 plants and producing approximately 7 kg of cannabis per crop with five expected crops per year.

Delta 9 is fortunate to be able to capitalize on four primary competitive advantages available right here in Manitoba. First, access to Canada’s most inexpensive hydro rates to power our operations. Second, access to a skilled and economical workforce. Third, the availability of premium and affordable industrial space perfectly suited for safe and secure growing operations. Fourth, our centralized location is ideally situated for exporting cannabis products across North America and beyond.

Delta 9 Vice President and Senior RPIC, John Arbuthnot, confirmed “When comparing these major cost centres to our competitors in Ontario and BC, it’s clear that Delta 9 holds a significant production advantage in the Canadian marketplace”.

Delta 9 is also proud to announce that Health Canada has extended our production and distribution license until August 31st, 2019. Additionally, Health Canada has removed all restrictions regarding production quotas enabling us to continue to expand and evolve operations on an ongoing basis, without any further approval required.

The future is green for Delta 9 Cannabis! As the medical cannabis market continues to grow rapidly and cannabis legalization continues to take shape over the next 12 months, there is an immediate need for Manitoba to produce a significant amount of cannabis to satisfy local consumption rates alone. In collaboration with the Manitoba government, Delta 9 is poised to help satisfy these requirements by committing to the deployment of 600 Grow Pods with a projected output of 25,000 kg annually by 2020. In total, this represents a $30,000,000 capital investment in Manitoba and will result in over 300 full-time jobs.
