Drying Team Lead - Winnipeg MB

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. is looking for an individual knowledgeable in and experienced with the drying and curing of cannabis. The successful candidate will possess a continuous improvement mindset, be solution oriented, exude a passion for plants and a strong attention to detail. Ideally, the candidate will be flexible with shiftwork and comfortable working in warehouse conditions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Availability will need to vary; shifts are influenced by the cannabis’s needs
o Working toward 16 hours facility availability
o Manager to work with Drying Supervisor to assign various shifts

• Determine when to sweat, rack, bin, sort and bulk pack product

• Bulk Packaging; able to perform and train:

o Pull samples as per QA and SOP requirements

o Ample Entry

o Complete worksheets and vault sign-in with keen attention to detail

• Update Production Controller with dry weights in a timely manner

• Sorting machine; able to perform and train:

o Operation

o Cleaning

o Maintenance

• Monitor sorting ratios and notify manager of extreme batches

• Monitor drying supplies inventory and work with purchasing to ensure uninterrupted production

• Minimize unnecessary waste, discipline on careless work

• Vault access required

• Notify manager and QA of any undocumented deficiencies

o Segregate as needed

o Track weight

o Document and communicate results

• Develop good working relationships with Growers and Grow Leads

o May participate in pre-harvest walk-throughs

o Provide feedback to Grow teams throughout drying process

• Provide manager with updates in timely manner

o Batch specific

o Scent, bud size, trim quality, sorting ratios, deficiencies and/or quality control concerns

• Participate in Sensory regularly, and assign Level 2’s to fill in when not available

• Monitor the temperature and humidity of dry pods

o Notify Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor of inconsistencies and anomalies

• Ensure necessary preventative maintenance is completed in timely manner on Drying pods and associated equipment

o Work with Health and Safety to mitigate risk

• Requires RPIC security status and ability to work alone

• Manage schedule of Drying Team

o Staff scheduled for critical points of process

o Ensure optimal quality output

o Minimize over-time

• Delegate tasks and oversee multiple associates to ensure work is completed on time

o Work with Harvest Supervisor to flex staff as needed

o Train associates as needed

• Ensure proper sanitation is completed for each batch and sanitation forms are always completed

• Communicate to Processing Team at Team Huddle

o Provide updates on Drying pods and processes

o Develop/modify/maintain Huddle Board metrics

• Complete annual performance reviews of Drying Level 2 Associates

o Provide continuous feedback on regular basis

o Provide manager with regular feedback on health of team

• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Knowledgeable in Cannabis cultivation, strains, pests etc.

• Previous experience in drying and curing of cannabis

• Strong attention to detail

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills

• Basic Math

• Excellent Communication Skills

• Understanding of documentation procedures

ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to train new staff in drying and curing

• Ability to keep team motivated

• Capable of lifting 50lbs and work in greenhouse conditions

Associate – Flex Team - Winnipeg MB

Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. is the premier Health Canada licensed Manitoba cannabis producer under the Cannabis Act. We are currently seeking a passionate, positive and self-motivated Flex Team Associate to join our operations team in a full-time position. As a Winnipeg based, federally licensed producer of cannabis. Delta 9 is a Manitoba leader with a dynamic and “growing” work environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a labour position, ideally in an ACMPR environment. Flex Team Associate must be flexible with shiftwork and comfortable working in warehouse working conditions. Successful candidates will exude passion for plants and strong attention to detail.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Driving forklift – (we will train for this)

• Changing air filters throughout all grow rooms

• Fabricate and install irrigation systems

• Fabricate and install plant shelving

• Perform daily checks on ventilation, lighting, and plumbing

• Run the drain systems

• Tear down grow equipment

• Empty grow pods of plant pots

• Sanitizing grow rooms

• Use of chemical cleaners

• Develop ideas to improve operations

• Complete documentation as required to support Quality systems

• Trim plants using hand cultivation tools; operate and maintain equipment according to SOPs

• De-leaf, manicure plants quickly and efficiently

• Consistently and routinely inspect plants for disease and pests

• Move cannabis (pre- and post-processed) between production environments in an efficient and sanitary manner

• Ensure all equipment and rooms (grow, processing, and dry rooms) have been cleaned and sterilized according to SOPs and ACMPR requirements

• Assist with inventory counts as required

• Communicate issues with management in a timely manner

• Harvest and trim plants using hand cultivation tools; operate and maintain equipment according to SOPs

• De-leaf, separate and hang buds quickly and efficiently

• Consistently and routinely inspect plants for disease and pests; perform quality control inspections of final trimmed products

• Weigh and record materials for performance tracking and complete all required documentation; ensure waste products are accurately labeled and documented appropriately

• Move cannabis (pre- and post-process) between production environments in an efficient and sanitary manner

• Ensure all equipment and rooms (grow, processing, and dry rooms) have been cleaned and sterilized according to SOPs and ACMPR requirements

• Assist with inventory counts as required
