Processing/Packaging Technologist

Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. is looking for a Processing/Packaging Technologist to join our team. As a Winnipeg based, federally licensed producer of cannabis, Delta 9 is a Manitoba leader in the industry with a dynamic and “growing” work environment.

Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. is Manitoba’s premier Licensed Producer (LP) of medical cannabis under the ACMPR. Reporting to the Processing Manager, the Processing/Packaging Technologist will provide technical leadership and manage the on-site execution of key projects at our Winnipeg facility. Projects will be aimed at upgrading facilities, increasing capacity and continually enhancing the reliability of our production facility.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Manage automated bottling line project implementation in Processing department
· Assist with implementation of oil packaging and processing lines
· Develop specifications, review equipment designs and work with equipment suppliers to meet company’s requirements
· Monitor and report on the execution of the assigned projects, taking action to coordinate activities and maintain budgets and timelines
· Work with Processing Manager to optimize harvest/packaging line and related equipment
· Develop and document preventive maintenance plans
· Provide technical support including troubleshooting for problems with existing equipment
· Evaluate, select packaging and labeling supplies and processes
· Train personnel on equipment and processes
· Assure Capital acquisitions meet both "product safety" and "health and safety" requirements in all aspects of plant operations, construction activities and operational changes
· Ensure the application of all legislative requirements and the appropriate company policies in all areas of processing and packaging in co-operation with Compliance Services
· Other projects as assigned

· 5+ years extensive capital project management experience
· Experience with GMP/GPP in a pharma, or food processing environment an asset
· Experience with lean manufacturing an asset
· Experience with automated packaging equipment and processes an asset
· Knowledge of health & safety requirements is essential
· Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or Engineering Technologist with experience
· Proven experience and performance in the management of major capital projects execution and successful management of consultants and contractors
· Knowledge of construction site practices and regulatory requirements
· Knowledge of contract development and execution
· Knowledge of WCB and insurance requirements and their management on construction sites
· Excellent interpersonal communications skills at all levels

Asset Protection & Compliance Manager

Reporting to the Vice President of Compliance Service, the Asset Protection & Compliance Manager is responsible to ensure the security of the Delta 9 campus buildings and manage the retail asset protection program. The Asset Protection & Compliance Manager will support in Health Canada compliance reporting and ensure timely installation of security systems with preferred vendors. This position will proactively mitigate retail profit loss through consultation with retail leadership teams and ensure store compliance with provincial LGCA security directives. The Asset Protection & Compliance Manager will lead development of a proactive security culture to support current and future assets.

A. Retail Operations (30%) 
· Ensure all Delta 9 retail stores are compliant with LGCA retail security directives and store security systems are maintained in optimum operating standards.
· Lead new store security system installations with preferred vendors to completion and ensure timely installation of other security controls such as key control & merchandise protection systems.
· Conduct retail store visits to benchmark store performance relating to security SOP’s and compliance deliverables. Ensure a consistent execution of programs within all retail business units.
· Proactively identify sources of retail profit loss in partnership with the inventory management team and store leadership teams.
· Develop procedures and best practices to mitigate retail loss without negatively impacting customer experience or operational efficiencies.
· Identify & lead retail investigations on all internal and external criminal activity to minimize loss and prevent re-occurrence
· Promote safety and loss prevention knowledge with all Delta 9 staff.
· Develop partnerships with regulatory agencies and police to attain mutual goals & promote best in class compliance standards.
B. Delta 9 Campus (70%)
· Ensure the Delta 9 Licence Producer site maintains security compliance to related Cannabis Act, Cannabis Regulations, & Health Canada CTLS security requirements.
· Support the compiling of the monthly Health Canada CTLS business reporting metrics.
· Lead security system installations with preferred venders to completion and proactively maintain all security systems to optimum operating standards.
· Maintain & enhance the physical security of all Delta 9 campus buildings and ensure all 3rd party contractors are following security expectations while onsite.
· Assist in compiling security system reporting & operational proof documentation to support business licence amendments as occurring.
· Proactively audit the security system infrastructure to ensure best in class regulatory compliance associated with security deliverables in the Cannabis Act Regulations.
· Lead completion of security investigation reports and recommend corrective action as applicable.
· Maintain and administer the card access system and key control program.
· Establish security controls to maintain Delta 9 assets which includes non-cannabis retail inventory and other critical production parts inventory
· Promote the Delta 9 safety and sanitation programs with all staff, visitors, and contractors onsite.
· Other duties as assigned.

· Post Secondary education in criminology, business administration, or related discipline is preferred
· Min 2-5 years in experience in a retail asset protection role
· 2 or more years experience in an asset protection manager or supervisor capacity preferred
· Demonstrated experience with leading regulatory compliance deliverables
· Ability to analyse and mitigate retail inventory loss in partnership with cross functional leaders
· Experience with security systems installation and daily operation of CCTV, Card Access, & Burglar systems
· Certification in Wicklander Zulawski Investigative Interviewing or equivalent is preferred
· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and effectively project manage to key deliverables
· Must be 19 years or older
· Must be able to pass a criminal record check and gain Health Canada CTLS Security Clearance

Executive Assistant to the President

Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. is looking for a full-time Executive Assistant to join our team. As a Winnipeg-based, federally licensed producer of cannabis. Delta 9 is a Manitoba leader with a dynamic and “growing” work environment.

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the President’s schedule and site projects are aligned and communicated accordingly both internal and external to the organization. The Executive assistant will act as a main liaison between contractors, Executives and Management. To provide updates and communicate action items, time frames and set backs of all major projects. Via internal project tool and or Microsoft suite.

Assist with providing information and details referring to projects and coordination of execution: time frames, updating internal project management tool(s).

· Acts as the point of contact between the President internal/external clients.
· Provides support to the President and Business Development/Contractors.
· Maintains President’s calendar by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences and teleconferences.
· Resolves any calendar conflicts in Director’s calendar by prioritizing meetings and events.
· Prepares meeting rooms with coffee etc. when required; occasionally involves ordering lunch etc.
· Attends meetings and transcribes Minutes in a timely manner.
· Ensures timely flow of information to internal and external clients.
· Assists with confidential information and record keeping including tracking Progress on building projects/ timelines and updates master schedule.
· Prepares correspondence and presentations by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Updating of various databases including master project portal, proposals, and weekly Executive meetings.
