Retail District Manager - Various Locations

The Retail District Manager provides strong leadership to Retail Store Managers, promoting respect, honesty, and fairness among our store and corporate team members and ethical service to our customers. This includes inspiring, encouraging and coaching our people to be at their best so they can provide our customers with ethical, helpful and socially responsible service in a secure, clean environment with appropriate levels of product, attractively displayed and properly accounted for.

Other responsibilities include: analyzing and developing action plans to drive top line sales, maintaining payroll budgets, monitoring adherence to corporate policies and procedures, monitoring and managing cost effective store operations, ensuring consistency and compliance to create a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Implement effective social responsibility and compliance measures
• Demonstrate strong Interpersonal skills in working with corporate departments, store managers and staff
• Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain strong commitment to customer service levels in retail stores
• Work with Store Managers to implement standards to achieve sales goals, KPI’s and manage expenses.
• Monitor and assist Mangers in analyzing store sales performance down to category level compared to customer wants, sales trends and goal. Develop and implement necessary steps to capitalize on opportunities
• Identify store training needs and providing ongoing coaching and training opportunities to the team as needed
• Coach/support Store Managers to assist them in achieving job performance expectations and assist with staff performance issues, implement appropriate action plans with employees to resolve performance issues, including progressive discipline steps, counselling etc.
• Conduct periodic Store Manager Meetings to communicate new programs, policies, new and ongoing initiatives, promotes continuous improvement etc.
• Utilize company tools to stay current regarding salable merchandise as well as maintain online and in-store product menus
• Demonstrated experience in recruitment, coaching, and performance management
• Coach Store Mangers to establish proper staff levels, effective staff schedules and to support staff training through regular store level staff meetings.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring/appointing store full time staff including Managers, Assistant Managers, Cannabis Specialists
• Maintains working knowledge and provides guidance to Store Mangers on complying with company policies SOP’s, Work Place Health and Safety and Employment Standards to ensure compliance in the various provinces.
• Regularly communicate with upper management to discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends in Retail operations and in the industry
• Ensure staff are performing additional cleaning requirements due to COVID-19 and provincial recommendations.
• Provides liaison regarding decisions related to COVID 19 and provides support to theretail managers.
• Ability to visit stores on a regular schedule conducting full site visits and identifying opportunities.
• Active involvement in community events as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and skills required

• Must be a minimum of 19 years of age
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and credit check
• Must be enthusiastic, friendly, optimistic, outgoing, and a team player
• Able to commit to frequent travel to visit stores within Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and others possibly in the future.
• Minimum 10 years of prior retail management/ district management experience with proven success
• Proven ability to lead a team of 15+ team members
• Post-secondary education in Business courses or equivalent
• Desire and ability to develop a positive in-depth understanding of cannabis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, strong in advanced Excel
• Ability to analyze data to make decisions Must have excellent attendance and professionalism
• Strong organizational, communication, time management and problem-solving skills
• Available to work weekdays, periodic evenings and weekends, and some holidays as per store operational demands.
• Must have reliable transportation

Preferable:

• Knowledge of the Cannabis Act in various provinces. Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
• Knowledge of LGCA, AGLC and SLGA Cannabis Terms and Conditions• Hold valid certification for Smart Choice, Safe sell and Cannasell and
• Knowledge of and experience working with Cannabis
• Prior work experience in a regulated environment is a definite asset
• Knowledge of Shopify POS system, Pay works payroll system

Purchasing Supervisor - Winnipeg, MB

The Purchasing Manager position includes work-responsibilities for both our Delta 9 BioTech and Delta 9 Cannabis Store companies, performing all day-to-day transactions with respect to Delta 9’s purchasing and inventory. Key areas of accountability include procurement, inventory management, and compliance with regulatory requirements, along with analyzing business data.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports internal clients, needs and direction;
• Forecasting, budgeting, sourcing, purchasing, PO tracking, and receiving product (open order inventory management);
• Monitor inventory levels, cycle counting and assist with quarter-end audits;
• Works within various system environments;
• Maintain system data;
• Analysis data to drive key business decisions;
• Develop, and deploy solutions to improve ROIs;
• Manage vendor relations;
• Coordinates with management, and supports various projects;
• Other duties as assigned;

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• 2-3 years prior experience in Category Manager/Assistant Category Manager or Purchasing Manager/Assistant Purchasing Manager is an asset;
• High School diploma, Secondary education would be an asset;
• Ability to obtain a federal security clearance under the ACMPR is a requirement;
• Self-starter, independent, and also work well in a team;
• Experience with EST software is an asset;
• Fully understands analytics, purchasing, inventory management;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills;
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft with excellence in Excel;
• Ability to periodically lift 25 pounds comfortably;
• Experience in a regulated environment is an asset

Sanitation / Fabrication Technician - Winnipeg, MB

Delta 9 is currently seeking a high energy, self motivated individual to join our Sanitation/Fabrication team in a Full-time, permanent position. This is a full-time position offered Monday to Friday, from 7am-3:30pm. The Sanitation/Fabrication Technician will be working in accordance with our Sanitation Manager to complete a schedule of daily tasks as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to keep our facility clean and well maintained. These responsibilities will include washing various workplace items used for plant growth, laundering various linens and basic maintenance of various workplace equipment.

Primary Responsibilities: 
• Driving forklift – (we will train for this)
• Changing air filters throughout all grow rooms 
• Fabricate and install irrigation systems
• Fabricate and install plant shelving 
• Perform daily checks on ventilation, lighting and plumbing
• Run the drain systems
• Tear down grow equipment
• Empty grow pods of plant pots
• Sanitizing grow rooms 
• Use of chemical cleaners
• Develop ideas to improve operations 
• Complete documentation as required to support Quality systems

Qualifications: 
• Must have completed high school diploma or GED equivalent 
• Must be able to work as a team
• Must be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs.
• Content with repetitive tasks 
• Must pass basic criminal background check 
• Oral communications skills required
• Detail oriented in all sanitation and maintenance tasks
• Forklift license or willing to learn
